I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas. I know we sure did. Barrett had a great 1st Christmas. He sure racked up on presents. Barrett turned 6 months old on Christmas eve, which ment that today he had to go to the Dr. and get his 6 months set of shots. Good news is that he is in the 50th precentile for his age range on both height and weight, so to everyone that says he is huge, well your wrong he is just right. He is now 26 1/4 " long and he weighs 18lbs. Barrett got his 1st tooth on Dec 14 and last night he got on all 4's and took 1 step crawling then fell down. We also just got his Your baby can read programs and he will start that this week. I will update you more as he learns more things.Well I am attaching new pics and I hope you enjoy them. We will post more later.

New Book! "what you say is what you get"

Ok so Ryan and I are reading this new book by Don Gossett called "what you say is what you get" and it is powerful. Let me start by saying that Don is a Christian and the book is about faith and getting all God promises you. Any way in this book it talks about how just by claiming things in Christ Jesus's name you can get all that you need. It also talks about how by claiming and saying negative things you will speak negative things into existance. Well it also gives a Never again list and Ryan and I feel this list is true and Important. I am going to post the list on here now for you to read. I hope you will take the list to heart as we did, and make the necessary changes to your life as well. Please comment and let me know what you think about it.
Never Again List

Never again will I confess
“I Can’t” for “I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13)

Never again will I confess lack, for “My God shall supply all of my need according to his riches in Glory by Christ Jesus” (Philippians 4:19)

Never again will I confess fear, for “God hath not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7)

Never again will I confess doubt and lack of faith for “God hath given to every man the measure of faith” (Romans 12:3)

Never again will I confess weakness, for “the Lord is the strength of my life” (Psalms 27:1) & “The people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits” (Danial 11:32)

Never again will I confess supremacy of Satan over my life, for “Greater is he that is within me then he that is in the world” (1 John 4:4)

Never again will I confess defeat, for “God always causeth me to triumph in Christ Jesus” (2 Corinthians 2:14)

Never again will I confess lack of wisdom, for “Christ Jesus is made unto me wisdom from God” (1 Corinthians 1:30)

Never again will I confess sickness, for “with his stripes I am healed” (Isaiah 53:5) & Jesus “Himself took my infirmities and bare my sickness” (Matthew 8:17)

Never again will I confess worries and frustrations, for I am”Casting all my cares upon him who careth for me” (1 Peter 5:7) In Christ I am care free.

Never again will I confess bondage, for “where the Spirit of the Lord is there is liberty” (2 Corinthians 3:17) My body is the temple of the Holy spirit!

Never again will I confess condemnation, for “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1) I am in Christ; therefore, I am free from condemnation.

Baby Tooth

Well as of Dec 14,2008 our baby boy has his 1st tooth. It is a bottom tooth and it is so sweet. Barrett refuses to let us look at it but he loves to bite on our fingers and let us feel it. once he lets us look I will post a pic of it.

Holidays

Well things are moving fast.... Barrett is 5 months old and on Christmas eve he will be 6 months. He is eating solid foods as shown in my last blog. He so far is eating Carrots, Sweet Potatoes, Sweet Peas, Apples, Rice cereal & oatmeal, & next week he starts on Pears. He is getting so big. He now weighs 16 lbs and is growing like a weed. Barrett went as tigger for halloween. We took him Trick or Treating at 2 houses in the neighborhood that his father and I grewup in. It was neat cause he got to go to 2 houses we use to trick or treat at when we were little. Thanksgiving went well I had all the Landons at our house plus a cousin his brothers kids. All in all we had 19 people and Yes I did all the cooking including the turkey! Thank Goodness my mom taught me how to cook. Anyhow it went off without a hitch and everyone loved the house and the food. I will post pics when I get them Downloaded. As for this week My mom and I took Barrett to have his Pic made with Santa and he loved it. I will post that too when I get it. I am done shopping for Christmas and that is good. All I have to do now is Wrap. Well I better go I will post more in the next few weeks.

Real food

Last week I took Barrett to the Dr. for his 4 month shots and check up. Things went well. Barrett has grown so much in the past 2 months. He is now 15 lbs 1 oz and 24 ¾ inches long. He is doing really well he is now in the 50% for height and weight which for those who don’t know means he is average and right on track. Not to big or small. We also got the go ahead to start him on cereal and veggies. I am attaching some pics of his 1st ever attempt at eating baby cereal. He had that for 1 week then we started him on Carrots. He gets sweet potatoes next week. We are so proud of our little one. He is doing great with scooting himself around on his belly, and he is trying to master sitting up by himself. I will post pics of Halloween next week when I get them developed.

Vegas Trip!

Our trip to Las Vegas was great. Barrett was a perfect angel on the flight, in fact we had several people come up to us and say that they were amazed at how quiet he was and that they never would have known he was there if they hadn’t seen him or his carrier. We got a lot of good info at the Glass convention and Work went well for Ryan. On the 2nd day, I walked over to the strip with Barrett, while Ryan was working the convention, and B-man loved the lights and sounds. We ate some amazing food and all in all it was a great Family trip. Other then me getting kicked out of our hotel lobby for trying to play 1 pull on the penny slot with my son in tow. HA HA HA I showed them though Ryan watched B-man later that night so I could gamble a little bit. I put $1 in the penny slot and on my 1st pull walked away with $98. I cashed out and went back to the room I wasn’t about to loose that money. The Trip back was great as well Barrett slept the whole flight and Ryan and I got to talk and just enjoy each others company. So I have to say that it was a great week but I am sure glad to be back home in my own bed.

13 Weeks Old

Barrett just turned 13 weeks old. He is doing great! He is roughly 24 in long and weighs about 13 lbs. He is growing like a weed, and loves to Coo and laugh. In fact he laughed so hard the other day at his Poppy Young that he lost his breath. It was adorable. He has also mastered the art to turning in circles on his belly and he can scoot himself across the bed or mat that I put him on when we have tummy time. He has also gotten to the stage where he loves to take baths and splach in the water. Just think in 1 1/2 weeks he gets to go on his 1st airplane ride and in 3 weeks he gets to try baby foods. Well I have included pictures and I hope you guys like them. Until the next update take care and I hope all is well with you and your family.

Babies 1st flight

Well I am so excited Ryan called me from work the other day and informed me that Barrett and I are going to accompany him to Las Vegas next month for work. I am so excited because this will be 1. Our 1st family trip together, 2. Barrett's 1st plane ride & 3. My 1st visit to vegas. Ok on the 3rd one that is 1/2 true. When I was a sophmore in Highschool our band drove through Vegas on our way to Disneyland but we were not allowed to get off the bus. We got to see the lights cause it was night time but we were not allowed to walk around and take in the sites. I have one month to get ready for this trip. I know you are probably thinking thats plenty of time. If it was just us adults sure your right but with a baby it is different. I have to get him use to taking a pacifier so that he can suck on something durring the flight to help his ears adapt to the pressure, I have to find a portable crib for him that is not our pack n play cause that is to big to take on the plane, and I have to get a sling and several other things. Heck just going to the store with a baby takes an extra 30 min, so traveling across the country I am sure will be a fun adventure. However I am looking forward to it very much.

2 month Dr visit

On Monday I took Barrett to the Dr. to get his 2 month check up and his 1st set of shots. Wouldn’t you know it he was a champ and did really well. He has grown and is now 21 ¾ inches long, and weighs in at 11.5 lbs. The Dr. said he is in the 50th percentile, which according to him is perfect. Anything more and he would be to big and anything less and he would be to small. I am happy with that. As for getting shots he really didn’t cry much just when the nurse pinned his legs down on the side of the table, and when she took the needle out. All in all he got 5 vaccines. He did well and didn’t even run much of a fever afterwards. I have included more pictures and will post more as we get them.

2 Months

Barrett turned 2 months old this week. He has had a busy week. He learned how to roll over on his own, on the day he turned 8 weeks. He met his cousins for the 1st time. And he can sit up in his bumbo chair all by himself. The Dr. said it is good to give him chair time and tummy time because it helps the baby improve his motor skills, & will help him sit up and crawl faster then babies that dont. All in all it was a great week, and a great 1st 2 months. I cant believe how much he has grown and how big he is getting already. We go back to the Dr. on monday for his 1st set of shots and for his 2 month checkup so I will update again then to let you know how big he is and what the Dr. has to say.

Update on us I have lost 34lbs since giving birth and my goal is to get back to what I was in college. So I have about 50 to go to get there, Thanks Goodness for Weight watchers, and Running. As for Barrett, he is now 7 weeks old and I cant belive how fast he is growing. He now smiles and kinda laughs when we do something silly. He has super strong legs and neck muscles. He has been holding his head up since he was 2 weeks old, and he scoots across the bed or floor when we have tummy time. It's like he crawls without using his arms, he just pushes himself with his legs.(The Dr. said some kids are just quicker to adapt their motor skills then others, but it doesnt mean he will be any smarter then other kids, But we can hope) LOL , It shouldn't be a suprise to me since both Ryan and I were walking by 10 months of age.Well I will give another update when I get one in the mean time enjoy the new pics.

Wednesday, July 23, 2008

Well Barrett is one month old and it has been a crazy month. There have been highs and lows but over all it has been amazing. Our little man is growing like a weed and he is so sweet. He loves to watch Ryan and I, or lay in bed and look at his sail boat mobile. There have been a few nights where he didn’t sleep at all but for the most part since day one he wakes up only 3 times a night to eat and be changed. Ryan and I couldn’t be more happy or proud of anything ever. Well we will post more as we get it in the mean time we hope you enjoy the pictures we posted.

2 weeks and growing

Well today Barrett is officially 2 weeks old. He went on his 1st walk this morning and he loved it, he slept most of the trip. He went to the Dr. yesterday and he is doing amazing. He has grown almost an inch, to 20 1/4 inches, and he has gained 10oz in 1 week(since we last took him to the dr.) Dr. Nesmith said that is amazing since they usually gain 4-8 oz in a week. He is starting to focus more when you talk to him it is like he can actually see us now. He is also almost on a schedule, he wakes only 3 times every night, like clock work midnight, 3am and 6am. Days are kinda crazy, he sleeps and eats when he wants but thats ok cause nights are scheduled. Ryan and I couldn't be happier. We love our precious little boy.
I am doing good as well, I have lost 25lbs in 2 weeks and I am walking again(cant run again until 6 week checkup is cleared),but thats OK. It is slow healing but I feel great and cant wait to be 100% again. I will post more updates as we get them.

He is Here

WELL he is here!!!!!Ok Tues 2 1/2 weeks before my due date, we went to the Hospital at 9:30 am having very very mild contractions, at noon they broke my water, I wasnt in pain at 4:30 pm, when they checked me & I was at 6cm, so I asked them to give me an epidural in 1 hr cause I wanted to make it to 7cm before I got it. That hr was murder, I couldnt understand why it hurt and the rest of labor wasnt that bad. Well they were suppose to check me then give me the epi, but they didnt they just gave it to me. They checked me just after and I was a 9 1/2. They got the Dr. in there and 4 pushs later we had a baby boy. Barrett Christian Landon was 19 inches long and 6 lbs 14 oz. He has red hair and we couldnt be more proud.

Contraction Update

Since I was having contractions every 3-4 min on Sat for more then 6 hrs(and couldnt enjoy my B-day celebration) and some yesterday & every 3 min this morning they moved my Dr. apt up to Today from Wed.
Well Barrett is measuring about 20-21 inches and is about 7lbs! HOLY Crap if I go another 3 weeks I am going to give birth to a toddler. LOL I am 1cm dialated and they said that the contractions are real contractions not Braxton Hicks, but that I am not in active labor yet.We are going to keep an eye on it and I will keep everyone posted.

35 weeks & almost 30

Ok so yesterday I went back to the Dr. (again). He said everything is looking good, Barrett is growing very well and that I am right on track. I am so excited!!!! I go back on June 18 to have some tests run (standard last min stuff) and to see if this kid is almost ready to make is grand entrence. I am so ready for him to get here but I know when God is ready this little man will show up.
ALSO for those who dont know in just 9 days I am going to be 30 yrs old. You know I never thought I would be 30 and having my 1st child, however I wouldnt change it for the world. I realize now that when I was younger I was not ready to be a parent, NO MATTER HOW READY I THOUGHT I WAS! I was not done with the having fun stage the hanging out with friends when ever I wanted the haveing freedom to just pick up and go when I wanted. But now I am in the right place. I am more mature, in a wonderful healthy marriage, and we (Ryan and I) both realize that becoming a parent is so much more then just poping out a kid. It is a lifestyle change. Both he and I want our children to be raised in church, with parents that are loving, supportive, and there no matter what. A child need Parents who aren't gone all the time, or drinking all the time, and we want our kids to grow up in a good home, knowing the difference between right and wrong. We realize that Being parents means you can't both drink when we go out, what is something happens and you have to take care of that child in the middle of the night, or rush them to the ER. How would that look if you showed up with your child in the ER and you both reaked of alcohol. I assure you the hospital would call CPS faster then you can blink. We have agreed for Our childrens sake not to keep Any in our house either. We also realize that we are going to have to spend less time with our friends, (just the 2 of us) hanging out. Every now and then is cool but when you are a parent it is all about that child, PERIOD, there are no if's and's or buts about that. To be a good parent it takes commitment, love, a great support system, and a strong Faith based family life. Ryan and I have decided we are ready for these lifestyle changes and we look forward to the arrival of our son with excitment and joy.

33 week update

It’s just me again with your 2 week update on how Barrett and I are doing. So this morning I had my 33 week checkup. Ok so this kid is driving me crazy, 1st he was 2 weeks ahead of schedule, then he was right on track, then he went to being 1 week ahead of the game. Well now he is back to being on schedule again. My Dr. told me today that he is measuring just right, and he is looking good. He did say however that that means nothing because Barrett will come when he wants to not when we tell/expect him to. He said he could show up tomorrow (although highly unlikely) or he could be right on his due date. I want him to make his big entrance on July 4 but who knows. On another note Barrett's room is almost finished we just have a few odds and ends to finish and then I will send pics out of that. OK well enough rambling I will let you go, just know that you will get another update in 2 weeks! Until then take care and I hope to talk to you soon.

Mothers day weekend

Well this weekend was blah! I was having problems with my feet and legs being swollen again so I had to stay home and stay in bed. It sucked!!!! Friday Ryan got to go out on our friends boat and have fun while I stayed home and watched tv. BLAH. Sat was also mellow, We were suppose to go to Austin for a friend's wedding but we again had to miss it cause my Bloodpresure was up and the Dr advised me not to travel more then 30 min outside Waco. This would have been fine but another friend from waco who is due like 2 weeks from now went so I am sure it looks bad, but when the Dr. tells me to do or not to do something I try to listen. Then mothers day was crazy we went to my in-laws for about 4 hrs and had lunch, it was great to see the brother/sister in'laws and all of their kids. We really had a good time there. Then it was off to my mom & dad's for dinner (cooked by yours truely) it was nice we spent about 3-4 hrs at my parents as well and we had a blast. Between my grandma being old and goofy and my mom laughing at her being goofy it was quite the weekend. OK well I probably wont have another blog until my next dr. APT on the 22nd.

Yet another Dr. APT

Well I went in to the Dr. Yesterday and good news is that I actually lost 6 lbs. The Dr. was very happy with that and told me to stick to the no sugar no salt and low carbs in my diet so that Barrett doesnt get to big. Other Good news is that Neither me or Barrett grew this week so he is now only about 9 days ahead of schedule. YEAHHHHH. Well my next appointment is in 2 weeks so I will send another update then. YEAH just 8 weeks from today we should be meeting Little Barrett.

Ultrasound Results

Ok so Ryan and I went to the Dr. Today to have yet another Ultrasound, Well he is measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule but they said it is ok for now. Dr. B. will go over all the results with me on the 7th at my next appointment. He did turn himself around in the last 3 weeks sometime, and is no longer breeched, so we are not going to have to have a C-Section for that. I have added 2 new pics of Barrett to my myspace pics but they arent very good because this little man wants to be difficult and he is now facing backwards so we couldnt get a good pic of his face. It seems that every ultrasound we have he doesnt want his pic taken. He either puts his hands in front of his face or he turns and faces my back so we cant see him. OH well in anywhere from 6-10 weeks we will see that handsome face. I will Keep everyone posted.

Swelling Update

Ok so I was really swollen in my legs today so my mom told me to just stop by the Dr.'s office to have them check it out and check my Bloodpressure. I did, & found out that My bp is a little high but not dangerous yet. GOOD news there.
BAD News is that I am measuring 2 weeks ahead of schedule. He has scheduled an ultrasound for tomorrow, to check Barretts size and condition, & to see if he is still Breeched and thinks that if Barrett is getting too big they may induce me in June, and if he is still breeched we will have to have a C-section. We will see. I know that what ever God wants will happen. He also said I have to cut all salt and sugar out of my diet, OK that really stinks! BLAHHH.
I will send another update tomorrow after the results are in.
Take care & I will talk to you soon.
Kristen

1 year anniversary

Ok So yesterday was our 1 yr anniversary, WOW how fast this yr went by. I think about where Ryan and I were last yr on our wedding day and I look to where we are today and I think How far we have come. 1 year review: Last yr we were living in a rent house with a roommate, we had 1 car, not much in savings, and we had some serious credit card bills.
This yr we baught a home in a nice neighborhood, we no longer have a roommate, we baught 2 almost new cars, we have paid off our debts and we have money in savings. Ryan is making a great living so that I can now stay home and not work. Not to mention that we now have an amazing bassett hound, and we have a Baby Boy on the way. WOW!
Who would have thought in just 1 yr we would have accomplished so much?

High Bloodpresure

Ok I know some of you guys have been asking how the pregnancy is going so I will just send out updates as I get them from my Dr. I went in on Monday because I had some pretty bad swelling in my legs,& feet, (which most of the time is normal in Pregnancy, but with my history we decided to be safe).Well Barrett and I are both fine. His heart rate was great, & he is growing like a weed. My swelling on the other hand not so good. It turns out my Bloodpresure had been slightly high the last couple of visits, over the weekend it got up to 140/80(which in pregnancy is high) the Dr told me we are going to watch the swelling and the Bp and if it gets up too much more, they are going to have to put me on bed rest. The Dr. told me to keep walking daily and eat healthy and in 2 weeks we will check it again. Lets Pray it stays down cause I cant be in bed for the next 13 weeks. Ok so my next Dr. Apt is April 16 so I will update you guys then. Thanks for all your carring, and prayers.

Growing Family!

Well Barrett is Growing and changing every day, & so is my belly! I feel like a whale but I know that is just part of it. He is kicking all the time and mostly at night so I never get any sleep, but oh well I better get use to it now right. At my last Ultrasound the Dr. said he is healthy and growing just as he should be he is about 10 inches long right now and he weighs just over a pound. It is exciting and a little nerve racking that in just 15 weeks I am going to be bringing my baby home to live. I am so excited & my parents are just going nuts buying the little guy stuff. No Lie they were in Louisville the other day and went to the Louisville slugger plant for a tour and baught Barrett a customized baseball bat with his name engraved in it. OH man is this baby going to be spoiled.
Things here are good Ryan is doing very well at his job, I am doing fine with mine(but I only have 3 more months untill I am not working any more) Daisy is still crazy and lazy, the other morning she freaked out when I made her go our side to do her business in the snow, She had no Idea what snow was much less how to act. She didnt like it much. We are so so so excited about Barretts arrival that we can hardly stand it. All we have to do is get his room ready but until our roommate moves out (hopefully in may) we cant do that. Thanks to 2 of our friends that just had sons last yr we literally have a room Full of baby boy cloths ages 0-18 month, and half of then still have the tags on them. Apperantly babies grow out of cloths so fast that they dont get to wear half of what they get. Thank goodness for Friends with kid, to cause now I can get other things I really need for my baby showers. The most amazing thing happenend yesterday. I was home relaxing on the couch , because monday and Tues I have the stomach flu and man was it bad. Well while I was laying there Barrett got the hickups for the 1st time. It was so cool he jut kept jumping it was like a little spasum in my belly. It was the weirdist but most amazing feeling ever. So in general All is well for the Landon clan. I will post more as we get updates. The next Dr. Apt is one week from today! Thanks to all my friends for your care and support!

It's A BOY!!!!

Well Guys in case you havent heard Ryan and I are having a BOY!!!!
Let me just say that we were not going to find out until next month but due to a strange turn of events I had to go in to the Dr. for an emergency dr. Visit today 1/18/08. Both Baby and I are fine and healthy. It was nothing to worry about. But when they were doing the Ultrasound the tech goes OH hey would you like to know the sex of your baby. I said Yes. And she asked the Dr to tell me. She goes you are definatly haveing a boy. (my mom was there cause Ryan couldnt be due to work & this being a last min dr. visit) so She said Yeah I thought that was what that was a min ago. The tech said Yeah I could tell a while ago, but didnt know if you wanted to know or not. I was elated. So instead of telling Ry I thought I would play a prank on him. I called and said hey baby and I are fine, but I know the sex and I'm not telling you. He was all Man thats not fair. I told him I had a suprise for him so Mom and I went to the Store and baught baby ourfit that is a base ball suit that says "All Star" and a bath towel that says My little Rookie and it came with a Tiny football that is like 2 inches. But I put it in a Pink Bag. So we go to his office and I get out the Pink bag and Ry is all I knew it was a Girl, OHHHH. Then I tell him to look inside he was all I know it's a girl I dont have to. So I grabed the baseball out fit and showed him and then he got all excited and was like you mean we are having a BOY! I told him Yes and showed him the U/s Photo that shows our little ones thing. Ryan was so thrilled. I cant wait!
SO everyone E-mail me boy names you like we need a good one. Right now we like Colton, Luke, Nathan, Matt, Joel, Carson, Collin, Logan, Mason, Ethan, & Hunter! Please Put in your 2 cents!!!!

Baby Names

Ok Guys we need your help. Ryan and I want to come up with an amazing name for our baby. We wont find out until the 1st week in feb the sex of the baby but we feel it is important to have a girl and boy name picked out just incase the baby doesnt want to show us his/her goods or if the Dr. makes a mistake(those tests are only 85% accurate). So Please e-mail me with any feedback you may have regarding names you like (Keep in mind it needs to go well with Landon) and here are some of our favs to see what you think of them.
Boys: Colton, Larry, Luke, Nathan, Kevin, Matt, Joel, Carson, Logan, & Mason
Girls: Calleigh, Paige, Maggie, Emily, Abigale, Emma, Mckinzee, & Brook
